    Choose your device below for instructions on how to start a Nike + iPod run.

    iPhone or iPod touch

    Start a Nike + iPod run on your iPhone or iPod touch by following these steps:

    1. Enable Nike + iPod on your iPhone/iPod touch.
    2. Insert the Nike+ Sensor into your shoe.
    3. Tap Nike + iPod and choose your workout type:
      • Basic: Open-ended workout.
      • Time: Workout with a time goal.
      • Distance: Workout with a distance goal.
      • Calorie: Workout with a calorie burning goal.
    4. Choose your music to accompany the Nike + iPod workout.
    5. Walk around to activate your sensor.
    6. Press the "Start" icon and begin your workout.
    iPod nano

    Start a Nike + iPod run on your iPod nano by following these steps:

    1. Insert the receiver into your iPod nano. Note: The receiver is not required for the iPod nano 6th generation unless you are using the Polar Wearlink+ heart rate transmitter.
    2. Insert the Nike+ Sensor into your shoe. The sensor is required for iPod nano generations 1-5. You can use your iPod nano 6th generation without the sensor.
    3. Choose your workout type:
      • Basic: Open-ended workout.
      • Time: Workout with a time goal.
      • Distance: Workout with a distance goal.
      • Calorie: Workout with a calorie burning goal.
      • Heart Rate: Workout with the Polar Wearlink+ heart rate transmitter (iPod nano, 5th and 6th generation).
    4. Select your music for your Nike + iPod workout.
    5. Start your workout.
